Subash Kolluru - Partner

Subash Kolluru is the co-founder of APEX Pacific Partners Advisors, LLC. In mid 2006 Subash founded ORBIS Real Estate Fund I, a US$100 million Mauritius Private Company Limited by Shares, as an India-Centric Residential Real Estate Investment Fund. As Managing Partner, Mr. Kolluru was responsible for sourcing, underwriting, structuring and monitoring the performance of all real estate acquisitions and developments.

From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Kolluru, co-invested with Perot Investments, the family office for H. Ross Perot Sr., for the acquisition of approximately $100 million in Japanese real estate assets and distressed real estate debt in the U.S. During this period, Mr. Kolluru was responsible for underwriting, acquiring, developing, and marketing the above referenced real estate assets.

As a founding principal of Da Vinci Advisors in 1998, Mr. Kolluru was responsible for developing and implementing a fee simple real estate acquisition and asset management platform in Japan for U.S. equity investors, including DLJ, Westbrook, Cargill, and Robert M. Bass controlled entities, with an exit via the Japanese REIT public market. He led the group which successfully acquired assets valued in excess of US $450 million and closed the first ever Yen-denominated, non-recourse credit facility in Japan for US $300 million.

From 1991 to 1997, Mr. Kolluru was involved with various entities owned or controlled by Robert M. Bass, the Fort Worth, Texas investor. During this time, he pursued real estate investment opportunities throughout North America. His initial involvement with the Bass organization began with the management and development of an exit strategy for the commercial and hospitality real estate assets controlled by the “bad bank” component of the American Savings and Loan transaction. Later, he was involved in the purchase of the $2.5 billion “bad bank” assets of the failed American Savings and Loan portfolio of real estate assets for the Dallas- based Brazos Partners, L.P. While in his capacity as a Vice President/Portfolio Manager with Brazos, he managed an orderly liquidation of approximately $730 million of real estate assets located primarily in California and the western United States. He also served as a senior member of Brazos Advisors L.L.C.’s key decision-making groups, the Investment Committee and the Major Asset Review Committee.

Prior to joining the Bass organization, Mr. Kolluru was actively involved for a period of 8 years in residential and commercial township real estate development in the Denver, Colorado metropolitan area, with a value in excess of $120 million.

Mr. Kolluru earned a bachelor of technology degree in civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai, India in 1980. He graduated with a master of science in civil engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1982.
